Investigating interfacial reactions in cathodes and anodes for lithium-, sodium-, and potassium-ion batteries, with a focus on using X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, both in-house and at synchrotron facilities. Leading projects on non-flammable liquid electrolytes, interface stabilisation, polymeric artificial SEI layers, and microwave heating for battery production.
Supervisor to a PhD student, a postdoctoral researcher, and co-supervisor to two PhD students.
Teaching in courses (and course responsible) at Uppsala University as well as for Dalarna University, Luleå University of Technology, and KTH Royal Institute of Technology. Three-week 'Supervising PhD Students' and five-week 'Academic Teacher Training' courses completed (2020/21).
Participating in projects: BIG-MAP , SIMBA , ECO2LIB , CoFBAT , COBRA , HYDRA .
Working with industrially-funded research projects, developing next-generation silicon anodes, and investigating oxygen-redox processes in cathodes for lithium-ion batteries. Collaborations with University of Bath and Oxford Physics department. Focus on battery testing, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy.
Project title: “Erosion Resistant Metal Layers on Carbon Fibre Reinforced Polymer (CFRP) for Low-Drag Aircraft”.
